Cables and Connectors SC / APC Rugged Molex Optimize Signal Transmission in Harsh Environments
The solutions of cables inside and outside standard contact (SC) or physical contact angle (CPA) fiber insensitive to the curvature are six times more flexible than traditional optical cables…
Cables for indoor or outdoor SC / APC connectors and 4.80 mm SC / APC, Molex Incorporated help customers and system integrators to meet all the design problems of communication networks and data telecommunications, in the same time complying with industry standards, the cable dimensions and types of standard fiber. Designed for industrial applications such as “fiber to x” (FTTx), connectors, SC / APC Molex support a radius of 5.00 mm and display a high level of optical reflection loss of -60 dB: the ideal for transmitting large amounts of data and video signals.
“Alternative sound cables and connectors to SC / APC standard cables SC / APC fiber insensitive to the curvature aim to optimize the transmission of signals in applications where space is especially cable routing reduces,” explains Eve Leal, program manager for Molex. “Much more flexible than traditional optical cables, our cables with connectors SC / APC, serial, an outer diameter of 4.80 mm, which allows use in harsh environments in inside or outside. ”
All models SC / APC Molex are equipped with precision ceramic ferrules pre-chamfered and a room designed to allow quick and economic connections both in the factory and on site. The pre-ceramic ferrules polished reduce polishing time and preserve the geometry of the terminal face. SC connectors have a mechanism for connecting push-pull type tested to the strictest industry standards.
Molex also offers a wide range of connection adapters’ simplex and duplex, as well as screw fasteners or pressure, and shutters optional adapter. In this case, the adapter is equipped with a valve spring which closes automatically when the connector is disconnected from the adapter to protect it against exposure to laser radiation and dust. SC adapters shielded against EMI are also available for applications where EMI emissions or RFID is a problem.
